Working in the technology space, Douglas built an IT consulting business catering to property management firms and attorneys locally and nationally. He is experienced with integrations, TOPS, Yardi, Control, AppFolio, and TownSq, among others, and understands how the HOA management and HOA attorney world operates.

Having consulted Laura Sherwood and Sacramento-based The HOA Warriors since 2016, when the opportunity to acquire the business was dropped at his feet in 2021, Douglas jumped at the opportunity to pick up where they left off.

As a paralegal advocate, Douglas has provided non-lawyer representation to clients in workers’ compensation, EDD, and HOA IDR hearings. Advocacy isn’t just helping parties come together, and to that end, Douglas has worked with HOA Boards and Community Association Managers to shore up their processes, policies, and procedures to make sure homeowner rights are not infringed while recognizing the difficult job managers and HOA Boards have to accomplish.

An HOA member himself, Douglas has waged his own successful battles, including elections and solar rights enforcement, and a Corp. Code section 7515 petition.

Douglas has served as both Secretary and Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer of an HOA with unwavering ethics and adherence to state, federal, and local municipality laws.
